Summer Programs (June/July 2024)
Unlock your potential and get ahead this summer with our chemistry classes! Designed for students taking AP Chemistry or Honors Chemistry next school year, our sessions give you an opportunity to get ahead. Whether you're preparing for next school year or aiming for a competitive edge, our experienced classroom teachers will give you the tools to succeed.

Fill out our Google Form to get more information about our sessions and link to the info session via Zoom where you can meet the instructor and ask questions about our programs.

Pre-AP Chemistry

This is for the student(s) who signed up for AP Chemistry for the 2024-2025 school year. We will be having 10 one hour sessions that will prepare you for AP Chemistry next school year. We expect our students to have some knowledge of the topics listed below therefore it is highly recommended that you have completed a year of chemistry or honors chemistry to get the most out of this course.

In each session, students will receive digital files that are worksheets or notes. We will work through AP free response questions (FRQ) and we will share how to get all the FRQ points. You'll get some tips and tricks on how to approach questions on the AP exam and additionally resources from our private file repository!

Here are the topics for each session that is 60 minutes long:

-
Review: Nomenclature, stoichiometry & limiting & excess reactants
-
Mass spectroscopy & photoelectron spectroscopy
-
Periodic trends, simple & advanced lewis structures, VSEPR, hybridization, resonance & formal charge
-
Intermolecular forces, gas laws, chromatography & net ionic equations
-
Titration, pH table & strong vs weak acids
-
Kinetics, rate law, mechanisms & reaction profiles
-
Specific heat, heat curve, phase diagram & Hess' Law
-
Equilibrium, Le Chatelier’s Principle & Q vs K
-
Titration curve graphs, equivalence point & pKa vs pH
-
Gibbs free energy, common AP labs to know, tips for answering FRQ, test strategies, & tips from AP graders/exam writers
Pre-Honors Chemistry

This is for the student(s) who signed up for Honors Chemistry for the 2024-2025 school year and want to get a head start or advantage going into next school year. We will be having 10 one hour sessions that will prepare you for Honors Chemistry next school year.
